One Ministry - Two Locations

The Central Night Shelter is a ministry of hospitality and compassion to homeless men in downtown Atlanta. It occupies space in two churches, Central Presbyterian and the neighboring Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

The shelter is open seven nights a week, beginning at 7 p.m., from November 1 to March 31 and offers its guests a hot meal, a warm safe place to spend the night, medical and foot care, and the fellowship of caring volunteers.

More information about the history and services available can be found on our Shelter FAQ page.  You may also watch a short video about the Central Night Shelter and its mission:

Cenral Night Shelter Prayer Vigil

Central Night Shelter is holding its second annual Prayer Vigil for Persons Experiencing Homelessness on Saturday November 10 from 8pm until 6am in front of The Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at 48 MLK DR.

As we did last year, for one night, we will share the burden of the night for our homeless brothers and sisters. We will stand in solidarity with them and for them. Please join us for the night, a few hours, a few moments to lend your support.

This year we gather to honor the memory of Price Fisher, a member of our shelter family, who selflessly gave up warmth and shelter to join us in the cold last year.  He was killed in a senseless act of violence on October 27.

We all know that violence is a close companion of poverty; but when it strikes one of our own so suddenly and with such devastation, it brings that knowledge to a fundamental level. Please send your good thoughts, wishes, and prayers out into the universe for Price and all those who live in the streets.

Those of us who participated last year can attest to the fact that it was a powerful experience and well worth the time invested. Come and be a part of our witness.
