Summer 2010--Expressions of God

Beginning June 6, Children K-5 will meet together.  The summer curriculum, Expressions of God, is a hands-on arts and worship series.  Various artists will lead church school by sharing their art in an experiential way. The focus parallels the adult Summer Series as the artists will share how their art is an expression of worship.

During the School Year

Our children 2^nd grade and younger  experience Godly Play in Church School.  Godly Play teaches children the art of using Christian language—parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action—to become more aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.  This Christian language is learned as a means to know God and to make meaning of our lives. Children have a natural sense of God; what they lack is the appropriate language to help them identify and express it so it can be explored and strengthened.  Godly Play engages our children to WONDER about God, the Bible, our life together as Christians, and our faith journeys.  Our PreK, Kindergarten, 1^st and 2^nd graders will engage in God’s story throughout the year.
