Curriculum

K-1st Grades  |  Godly Play

Children have a natural sense of God and what they lack is the appropriate language to help them identify and express it so it can be explored and strengthened.  Godly Play teaches children the art of using Christian language—parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action—helping them become more aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.  This Christian language is learned as a means to know God and to make meaning of our lives. Our PreK through 1st graders will engage in God’s story throughout the year.

Second - Fifth Grades  |  Akaloo

Akaloo is based on lifelong faith formation for all children using five areas or units of discipleship: Bible, God, Disciple, Church, and World. This is united behind a single theme: We are called to follow Jesus. The name Akaloo is inspired by the Greek word ακολουΘειν : akolouthein (“to follow”). Jesus said to his disciples, “Follow me.” Drop your nets. A new life awaits you. Akaloo is grounded in the simple, radical call to discipleship. Akaloo is following Jesus as body of Christ.  This theme based curriculum will take us through the end of May.
